Focus

7/31/2009 05:06:00 PM

Hello everyone,

Do you have a camera? Have you ever taken a photograph? Are you a photographer? Whatever your credentials are, it is safe to say that the photographs you have taken that have turned out best were those captured when you took the time to focus. By fine tuning the lens, your subject became more in tune with the picture that is already in place in your mind’s eye. As you worked your way to capture in a frame what you already envisioned in your mind, your photograph “developed” into reality. Interestingly, the realizations of our goals either short term or long term are really not so different than picture taking technique.

The more we focus, the better the results we get. It takes controlled attention to focus on a regular basis. Once we master this technique the application of this principle leads to mastery in our chosen area. In order to do an excellent job we must focus only on the task at hand. It does not matter if it is typing a letter, baking a cake, driving a car or planting a garden. Focus involves actively aligning our abilities with our desired outcome.

Remember in school when your teacher said “Pay attention!”? The point of that command or instruction is to relieve you from your daydreams and get you back into the reality of the lesson. There is a time and place for creative imagination but not while working on succeeding something important. By paying attention to the task at hand, you are telling your conscious mind that you are in charge. Otherwise, if not focused, you won’t be able to do things that are important to you effectively. Just like handling a ship; if unfocused you won’t be able to handle the ship effectively hence your watch will be left unmanned and disaster could strike any time.

Practice focusing. If you have a task that you are reluctant to complete, tell yourself that you will give it your utmost for certain time limits for instance 15 minutes or 30 minutes or even 1 hour. You set the time you are comfortable with at first. Then, stay with the task for the chosen amount of time. As you become comfortable controlling the outcome and also begin to see positive results, you will understand that by focusing on your goal you stay at the wheel of your ship and guide yourself to your chosen destination.

So focus, focus, focus, and your life’s journey will end up exactly at the destination you determined well in advance. Only you can make it happen.

Controlled Attention Leads to Mastery by Napoleon Hill

7/31/2009 04:44:00 PM

Controlled attention leads to mastery in any type of human endeavor, because it enables one to focus the powers of his mind upon the attainment of a definite objective and to keep it so fixed at will. Controlled attention is self-mastery of the highest order, for it is an accepted fact that the man who controls his own mind may control everything else that gets in his way.

It was this sort of control which Harriet Beecher Stowe had in mind when she said:

When you get into a tight place and everything goes against you, ‘til it seems as though you could not hold on a minute longer, never give up then, for that is just the place and time that the tide will turn.

The tide seems always to turn in your favor if you are determined to see that it does. Your state of mind has everything to do with turning the tide. Plato expressed this thought in his statement:

The first and best victory is to conquer self; to be conquered by self is, of all things, the most shameful and vile.

Francis Parkman showed his understanding of the power of the mind, and particularly the power available through controlled attention, when he wrote:

He who would do some great thing in this short life must apply himself to work with such concentration of his forces as, to idle spectators, who live only to amuse themselves, looks like insanity.

Washington Irving expressed his respect for the power of the mind in these words:

Great minds have purposes, others have wishes. Little minds are tamed and subdued by misfortune; but great minds rise above them.

The potentialities of the power of controlled attention, through concentration, are many, but none of them is greater, nor more important, than that of concentration upon a definite major purpose. Hidden in these two words: controlled attention – is a strange power that will enable you to remove all self-imposed limitations which most people accept or set up in their own minds, and by which some are bound throughout their lives.

Dream Torture by Denis Waitley

7/29/2009 05:11:00 AM

Perhaps the greatest torture that could be devised would be for us to be forced, in our later years, to watch a continuously repeating movie of the lives we could have led, had we dared to believe in and pursue the dreams and goals that were available and attainable in our lifetime.

DON’T BE A SPECTATOR

While we all say we don’t have enough time to do justice to our goals and dreams, each of us has all the time there is. None of us really has a time-management problem. We really have a dream- and goal-focus problem. We spend too much energy worrying about the things we want to do but can’t, instead of concentrating on doing the things we can do but don’t. It is the regret for something we did or didn’t do yesterday and the apprehension of what we can’t do tomorrow that are the biggest energy drains on our lives.

A dream is your creative vision for your life in the future. It is what you would like your life to become. A goal is what, specifically, you intend to make happen. However, many individuals become spectators, resigned to experience success vicariously through others’ accomplishments. They can see success for others, but they can’t imagine it for themselves. Dreams and goals are previews of coming attractions in your life. You can be the script writer, the star and the producer of an Oscar-winning epic life or an extra in a “B” movie that someone else wrote and directed for you. Which is it to be?

STAY FOCUSED ON YOU

Make certain that your goals are not measured in comparison with others’. Avoid the tendency to measure your own progress by looking over the fence at greener pastures. There are many others who have started a little earlier than you, and you may become discouraged if you see them harvesting success when some of your seeds are barely in the ground. Comparison rarely benefits anyone. You’ll always be able to find someone smarter, younger, older, wiser, richer, more clever, better looking, or working harder or more effectively than you are.

When you make comparisons in which you place yourself beneath others, you’re in for a discouragement that will keep you procrastinating, and perhaps even from seriously pursuing your goals. You can also find others who don’t measure up to what you have become or are aspiring to be. Avoid the tendency to compare yourself with them as well. You will lower your goals and settle for average when you could have excellence. You may come to think that you deserve more success than others or that success lies ahead for you no matter what you do. Both are false assumptions.

Success isn’t a pie with a limited number of pieces. The success of others has very little bearing on your own success. You and everyone you know can become successful without anyone suffering setbacks, harm or downturns. Neither is your success measured by what others say or accomplish. Only you can truly define your success, and only you can measure it.

Considering hospitality industry as your career?

7/28/2009 05:15:00 AM

Hello everyone.

A brief look at the wonderful world of hospitality, challenges for the industry, and reasons why you might consider it as a career.

The word hospitality derives from Latin verb hospitare, meaning “to receive as a guest.” Hospitality may bring to mind the times your relatives stayed over at your home or the times your family went on vacation and stayed at a resort or hotel. As a guest, what do you need? Traditionally, the requirements of a guest are food, drink, and shelter. If the word hospitality refers to the provision of these three necessities to travelers, then the industry consists of businesses that do this. Some hosts, however, also provide entertainment for their guests, like on a cruise ship or a casino. The entertainment industry is far-reaching, including everything from theme parks to sports events. Unlike hospitality, entertainment is not associated with the provision of a traveler’s basic needs, and is a whole separate industry altogether.

The hospitality industry is, by itself, a giant trillion of dollars service sector and comprises of hotels, resorts, clubs, restaurants, catering, meeting and event planning.

Hotels, arguably the most basic element of the hospitality industry, is a commercial establishment that offers lodging to travelers, usually on a short-term basis. The differing costs of a hotel room are indicative of the location of the property, quality of furnishings, and range of amenities and services available. We’re all familiar with the one to five star rating system, where more stars indicate greater luxury, and more amenities and personalized service. Instead of stars, the American Automobile Association (AAA) uses one to five diamonds to rate hotels. However, the correlation between ratings and guest experience is loose at best.

From a JW Marriott to a Doubletree, there are a variety of hotels on the market with different price points to choose from. Most hotels are independently owned but are often managed by a subsidiary of a global giant like the InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG), which owns the Holiday Inn franchise, or Starwood Hotels and Resorts, which is the parent company of world-renowned chains such as Sheraton and Westin. Nowadays the boutique hotel concept has become increasingly popular. Typically used to describe independent establishments that are more intimate and quirky, larger hotel companies have created their own boutique brands, like Starwood’s W chain or Marriott’s Edition, in order to capture market share. Nevertheless, finding ultimate luxury often does not require looking further than the Four Seasons, while budget travelers might consider staying at a Microtel. In this world of lodging, however, there exists much more than standalone hotels and motels.

Attach shopping and sports to a hotel and it can often be classified as a resort, which is a place for both recreation and vacation. Resorts are more often establishments operated by a single independent company, although resort chains like Aman Resorts or Club Med are common. Not surprisingly, a hotel is frequently a central feature of a resort, like at the Atlantis in the Bahamas. A self-contained resort, for instance at Walt Disney World, attempts to provide everything a guest want, so that guests would never leave the resort for any reason. Some resorts boast activities such as golf, watersports, winter sports, spa facilities, or luxury safaris.

When travelers stay for extended periods of time, they might opt for a serviced apartment, which is furnished to resemble a home, with the provision of cooking and dining facilities, more closet space and the like. Such apartments are often cheaper than hotel rooms, and are popular with families looking to “live” rather than “stay” somewhere, albeit for a short time. Many hotels have an apartment arm adjacent to it. The hotel staff is usually at the disposal of apartment residents, combining the flexibility of apartment living with the services of a hotel. Luxurious amenities like 42-inch plasma TVs and king-size beds with 400-count sheets are not unheard of.

The Food and Beverage (F&B) component of the hospitality industry involves a mix of different establishments, contrasted by menu type, dining style and pricing. The F&B industry includes everything from polish sausages and pretzels sold from a cart on a street corner, to delicatessens, to McD’s and fine dining within or without hotels. The Michelin Guide is a contemporary restaurant reviewer that is popular in Europe; their incognito inspectors accord one to three stars to restaurants that they regard as having high culinary merit.

Let’s look at some of the challenges of operating hotels in the current global market environment. Even once the economy recovers from the downturn, some aspects of the crisis will continue to linger. The factors that will most impact upon the hospitality industry include elevated food and fuel prices, troubled capital and credit markets, and excessive consumer debt levels. Other issues include a shortage of skilled labor, changing demographics, and in certain parts of the world, security.

The hospitality industry is service-oriented, and of necessity, labor-intensive. The problem of attracting and retaining qualified workers is increasingly becoming a global human resource challenge for hotels. The hospitality industry has long been criticized for offering compensation levels below those common in other lines of business. All hotel owners or General Managers recognizes that the industry is notorious for long hours and night plus weekend shifts, driving college students to seek other careers with better hours and/or better starting salaries, like banking. In this current economic turmoil, employee training continues to be important as hotel brands attempt to meet high customer expectations while exercising prudent fiscal responsibility.

The impact of changing demographics on travel trends leaves no sector in the hospitality industry unaffected. Whether it is the gradual retirement of baby boomers, rampant globalization or the rich entrepreneurs; the dramatic worldwide shift in demographics poses challenges for the industry. Hoteliers need to begin offering services and products that address multi-generational needs and desires. Hoteliers must cater to the special needs of aging consumers as well as younger travelers, who have very different expectations in regard to design and technology. The traditional practice of brand standardization goes out the window as hoteliers look for ways to enhance all guest experiences regardless of age.

With regard to security, the post 9/11 environment presents hoteliers with the difficult task of having to balance accessibility with increased levels of protection for guests. Governments have stepped up security at key locations such as airports and embassies. Therefore, hotels, with their relatively lax security, have become alternative targets for terrorists, as seen in the Marriott bombing in Jakarta weeks ago, and the recent attacks at a hotel in Mumbai. Not only must there be increased expenditure for equipment (e.g. CCTV, building access controls), but there has to be substantial investment in the training of all hotel staff to be more vigilant and security consciousness. Short of deploying armed guards and metal detectors outside lobby entrances, like many hotels in the Philippines and Indonesia have done, it is crucial that hotels re-evaluate their security protocols, because only then can guests be assured of their personal safety and an enhanced customer experience.

I think that the hospitality industry provides all the usual challenges of running a business, along with perks like opportunities to travel and interact with people from different parts of the world, unpredictable experiences, and an interesting lifestyle in addition. It surprises me to find that there are relatively few future hoteliers, compared with future doctors, lawyers, bankers and engineers, in liberal arts colleges and universities.

Maybe this is due to incorrect assumption that one needs to have a degree from a hotel school in order to break into the industry. While there are specialized hospitality-related skills, the truth is that a hotel is like any other commercial organization. It is a business that requires people skilled in management, accounting and finance, marketing, sales, and communications. The unfortunate reality is that many students do not consider careers in hospitality, as other professional options are more attractive and obvious. As a result, there is a dearth of graduates in the industry when in fact such talent is very much in demand.

Many graduates look at the industry and think, “Well, there are food servers and housekeepers,” and forget that positions exist in senior management and corporate development as well. Each hotel is a mini company, and each chain is a multinational corporation.

Imagine yourself in an occupation with all of the usual challenges, but that knows no geographical boundaries, and gives you the chance to meet people from all walks of life, from John Doe to leaders in business, politics, entertainment and sports. Its kind of fun. Is it saying too much to suggest that?

62-Year-Old Reaches North Pole

7/24/2009 05:18:00 PM

Hello everyone.

Here is a story I would like to share with you. A story which I received via email from someone I know. It’s a story about achieving goal.

Have you ever struggle to achieve a goal? Well, I'm about to remove your excuses forever. Check out the story below.

Raymond Aaron, at the age of 62, heard about a crazy thing called the Polar Race. This is a race where a handful of extreme athletes travel 350 miles across arctic ice-fields to reach the Magnetic North Pole. Using only skis and sleds. Under their own power. No motors. No kidding.

And Raymond did what many don't ever do - he finished the race. Alive. So what's your excuse for not achieving your goals? Raymond pushed himself beyond human limits - and did something well beyond the abilities of most people half his age. "The Polar Race is by far the toughest thing I've ever done," says Raymond. "I would never do it again." Then he smiles. "But I highly recommend doing it once."

So how tough was it, really?

Raymond spent April in the Arctic, racing to the Pole with competitors half his age, pulling a 100-pound sled, skiing the equivalent of a marathon every day. He lost a pound of body weight every day. At times, he thought he might die. At times, he wanted to quit. But quitting the Polar Race is not an option. If you want to live, you keep moving.

Raymond endured the hardships of the subzero temperatures, fields of ice rubble, and dragging that hundred pound sled behind him. He suffered frostbite on his face. One night, Raymond lay in his sleeping bag listening to a polar bear rummage around his campsite.

The coldest day of the race came just four days into the three-week ordeal. The race teams forced themselves to move through a bone shattering -68°day. "It's hard to describe because it's so shocking. Cold wind instantly freezes you. It's just so frightening." says Raymond.

While it was the most difficult thing Raymond had ever done, it also turned out to be the most rewarding. Completing the race was a triumph few people will ever know. "I learned that I could go beyond what I thought were my limits," says Raymond. "We are capable of much more than we believe we are capable of."

So, what do you think of the story above? Interesting? Inspiring? Motivating?

MORAL OF THE STORY: Anyone can do just about anything they set their mind to.

Autosuggestion and Controlled Attention by Napoleon Hill

7/24/2009 05:10:00 PM

You are influenced by, and you are a part of, the dominating circumstances of your daily environment. The medium by which this takes place is known as autosuggestions (suggestions you make to yourself, either consciously or unconsciously).

Autosuggestion records in your memory every thought you express, and makes it a part of your character, whether the thought is positive or negative. It records every word which is spoken within your hearing, and gives it a positive or a negative meaning, according to your reaction to it.

Autosuggestion records your thought reactions to everything you see or recognize through any of the five physical senses, and it records the “feel” which you pick up from your physical surroundings.

The objects on which you deliberately concentrate your attention become the dominating influences in your environment. If your thoughts are fixed upon poverty, or the physical signs of poverty, these influences are transferred to your subconscious mind through autosuggestion.

If the habit of concentrating on poverty is continued, it will result in conditioning your mind to accept poverty as an unavoidable circumstance, and you will eventually become poverty-conscious. This is how millions of people condemn themselves to a life of poverty. Remember this, you who would have opulence.

The principle of autosuggestion works in precisely the same manner when your dominating thoughts are fixed, through controlled attention upon opulence and economic security. This habit leads to the development of a prosperity consciousness without which no one may hope for economic security.

It is obvious, therefore, that when you voluntarily fix your attention upon a definite major purpose of a positive nature, and force your mind, through daily habits of thought, to dwell on that subject, you condition your subconscious mind to act on that purpose. As we have stated repeatedly, the subconscious mind acts first on the dominating thoughts placed before it daily, whether they are positive or negative, and proceeds to carry out those thoughts by translating them into their material equivalent.

Recommitting goals

7/24/2009 04:03:00 AM

Hello everyone.

How’s everyone doing? Do any of you encounter problem in committing your goals? Well, today I would like to share on recommitting your manifestation of goals. How are you doing at manifesting the life of your dreams? Do you see any changes? Is there changes taking place? Are you having fun while you progress on your journey? Maybe you got side tracked and looking for a way to start again. I recently found out about this 3 step ritual that will assist in getting you back on track.

1. Express Gratitude

"An attitude of gratitude" is truly the "master key" in opening the passage for opportunity, abundance, and celebration. Imagine being given a master key, yours for all eternity, to open all doors of possibilities.

Take a moment to appreciate how far you have come on your journey and acknowledge that you are doing a great job. Know that everything that is and has happened is perfect in its timing. Honor who you are in this moment and know that you are a perfect creation. It's important to be aware of the tendencies to want to berate yourself for not doing this or that. Let it go; that's just our old ego patterns. Then immediately refocus back on the divine being that you are and the perfection of the Universe all around you.

2. Proclaim your recommitment

Look deep inside and determine what you want to recommit to manifesting, doing, or experiencing. Then state that commitment out loud. It could be "I am committed to an incredible relationship" or "I am committed to maintain my fitness." Whatever it is, speak these words with passion and sincerity.

3. Visualize yourself fulfilling your recommitment

After you have stated your recommitment, close your eyes and imagine what your life is going to feel like and be like once it has been fulfilled. Savor those feelings and bask in them for at least 20 seconds. Notice every little detail of your manifestation and feel the joy throughout your body.

If you are having problems with step 1, try something different such as standing in front of a mirror and look deep into your eyes as if you are looking into your own soul. Express gratitude and love. Feel the love.

No parking space?

7/23/2009 03:44:00 PM
Hi everyone.

Bangsar Baru is a happening place. I agree to a point of where there are lot of restaurants, pubs, discos and a shopping mall. Well, two shopping malls actually. However if you were to drive along Jalan Telawi in Bangsar Baru, it will give you nightmares. I mean the road in Bangsar Baru is packed with cars. When it comes to Bangsar Baru, there's an article in NST newspaper on Thursday July 23rd titled 'Less parking sapce adds to traffic woes'.

In the said article, it wrote that a total of 32 parking bays on the side-lanes have been installed with metal barriers. To my understanding, the side-lanes parking bays are opposite houses along Jalan Telawi and the purpose was safety and security reasons. It is also to my understanding, residents could not get in to their home and its difficult for residents as their gate been blocked by parked cars and even blocked by traffic jams.

In the article it also wrote that some people who frequent Bangsar Baru or business owners in Bangsar Baru complaint there are not enough parking space and in fact there are even cars parked next to the metal barriers.

To be honest, I agree with the installation of metal barriers. Its stops car from double parking and it will be a little bit less traffic. They should not complained not enough parking. The sad thing is people still double parked, parked along residential areas and even blocked residents' gates. it is very sad. The installation of metal barriers should be a wake-up call for all drivers to Bangsar Baru so that they can use their best thinking on looking for parking. Unfortunately it does not happen that way.

I don't understand Malaysian drivers. There are lots of parking space in Bangsar Baru especially in the basement of a shopping mall. They can even park a bit further from the intended destination and they can also try using public transportation to get to their destination. These are the alternatives. I feel sorry for the residents along Jalan Telawi. There's one resident said to the NST newspaper, "We cannot compromise the safety of our lives and our properties if drivers are hesitant about forking out a few ringgit in parking lanes." I have to agree with the statement given by the resident.

The so called not enough parking space double parking have always been a problem in Bangsar Baru. There are lots of parking spaces available especially in the basement of a shopping center. Don't be hesitant of forking out some ringgits to pay for parking. What is wrong with paying for parking anyway? They can go shopping, they can pay car installments, they can pay for car repairs, they can for anything they want but they refuse to pay for parking ! Why ?! Not to forget, they are willing to pay summons for double parking too ! Worse come to worse, if they can't find any parking; they can always park a bit further. Even if they park further, there's no harm walking a bit. Its healthy that way. Oh yes, not to mention the public transportation. We have lots of transportation namely taxi, bus and lrt. Unfortunately they don't take advantage of it. I guess they are lazy to walk.

To all fellow Malaysians, don't be lazy and don't be selfish. Be responsible and use the available parking facilities that have been provided. Pay for your parking. Use your common sense.

Well, thats it for now. The article above are only my personal opinion. If any Malaysian drivers do read this, I apologize but there's a saying; siapa makan cili dia rasa pedas.

No delivery after midnight.....

7/23/2009 03:07:00 PM
Hi everyone.

Have any of you had problems with McDonald delivery? I do. I wonder why McDonalds refuses to make delivery to Taman Tun Dr. Ismail after midnight.

I usually place orders for McDonald and was surprised to to find out from their customer service that the food could not be delivered. This happened 2 nights ago.

I was told that the food could not be delivered to my place when I contacted them at 1215am. The reason given was that Taman Tun Dr. Ismail was covered by Uptown outlet in Petaling Jaya but it does not operate 24 hours.

I told them Taman Tun Dr. Ismail is not that far from Uptown, in fact there's another outlet nearby which is the Centrepoint outlet in Bandar Utama. They told me that the Centrepoint outlet's delivery does not cover Taman Tun Dr. Ismail. I asked them to spare a rider to send food to my place as I plan to only order 2 items but unfortunately they can't do it.

I was not happy at all. They told me that they have logistics problem. I was like, huh? Logistic problem? Its only 2 items, not even 3, 4 or 5 items and to send it to my place in Taman Tun Dr. Ismail, not somewhere far like Kepong. I even spoke to their supervisor and told them to send it to my place but they refused ! They could only apologize and in the end I hang up the phone.

Why is it so difficult for them to send food to my place? Its not even far. In fact its only about 10 - 15 minutes to reach my place. I'm planning to complaint to their management but should I? I think I should. Maybe.

Weird & interesting day.....

7/23/2009 04:10:00 AM
Hello everyone.

How is everyone doing? Good? How was your day? Interesting?

I had a very interesting day today. Today I woke up at 0700am and left for work at 0740am. I was a little late. Reached office at 0810am. Once reached office, started doing my work. Today morning was fun & happy and unfortunately the fun & happiness ends after lunch which was while we were doing some work.

In the office there are 4 of working. 1 supervisor, 1 permenant staff and the other 2 were temporary staff which include myself. Let me categorized the 4 of us as A - supervisor, B - permanent staff, C - temporary staff and D - temporary staff (myself). We were archiving files and while doing that we were on internet. I showed an email I received from a friend of mine on healthy living. Below is the article on healthy living which I would love to share with you as well:

MUSHROOM – EAR

  • Slice a mushroom in half and it resembles the shape of the human ear.
  • And guess what? Adding it to your cooking could actually improve your hearing.
  • That’s because mushrooms are one of the few foods in our diet that contain vitamin D.
  • This particular vitamin is important for healthy bones, even the tiny ones in the ear that transmit sound to the brain.

BANANA (SMILE) – DEPRESSION

  • Cheer yourself up and put a smile on your face by eating a banana
  • The popular fruit contains a protein called tryptophan.
  • Once it has been digested, tryptophan then gets converted in a chemical neurotransmitter called serotonin.
  • This is one of the most important mood-regulating chemicals in the brain and most anti-depressant drugs work by adjusting levels of serotonin production.
  • Higher levels are associated with better moods.

BROCCOLI – CANCER

  • Close-up, the tiny green tips on a broccoli head look like hundreds of cancer cells.
  • Now scientists know this disease-busting veg can play a crucial role in preventing the disease.
  • Last year, a team of researchers at the US National Cancer Institute found just a weekly serving of broccoli was enough to reduce the risk of prostate cancer by 45 per cent.
  • In Britain, prostate cancer kills one man every hour.

GINGER – STOMACH

  • Root ginger, commonly sold in supermarkets, often looks just like the stomach.
  • So it’s interesting that one of its biggest benefits is aiding digestion.
  • The Chinese have been using it for over 2,000 years to calm the stomach and cure nausea, while it is also a popular remedy for motion sickness.
  • But the benefits could go much further.
  • Tests on mice at the University of Minnesota found injecting the chemical that gives ginger its flavour slowed down the growth rate of bowel tumours.

CHEESE – BONES

  • A nice ‘holey’ cheese, like Emmenthal, is not just good for your bones, it even resembles their internal structure.
  • And like most cheeses, it is a rich source of calcium, a vital ingredient for strong bones and reducing the risk of osteoporosis later in life.
  • Together with another mineral called phosphate, it provides the main strength in bones but also helps to ‘power’ muscles.
  • Getting enough calcium in the diet during childhood is crucial for strong bones.
  • A study at Columbia University in New York showed teens who increased calcium intake from 800mg a day to 1200mg – equal to an extra two slices of cheddar - boosted their bone density by six per cent.

BEANSPROUTS – SPERM

  • The stir-fry favourite bears an uncanny resemblance to the images we see of ‘swimming’ sperm trying to fertilise an egg. And research from the US suggests they could play an important part in boosting male fertility.
  • A study at the Cleveland Clinic in Ohio showed that to make healthy sperm in large quantities, the body needs a good supply of vitamin C, a powerful antioxidant that protects cells against damage by harmful molecules called free radicals.
  • Just half a cup of bean sprouts provides 16 per cent of the recommended daily allowance of vitamin C for a man.
  • It’s not just dad but baby too who could benefit.
  • Bean sprouts are packed with folate, a vitamin that prevents neural tube defects, where the baby is born with a damaged brain or spine.

GRAPES – LUNGS

  • OUR lungs are made up of branches of ever-smaller airways that finish up with tiny bunches of tissue called alveoli.
  • These structures, which resemble bunches of grapes, allow oxygen to pass from the lungs to the blood stream.
  • One reason that very premature babies struggle to survive is that these alveoli do not begin to form until week 23 or 24 of pregnancy.
  • A diet high in fresh fruit, such as grapes, has been shown to reduce the risk of lung cancer and emphysema.
  • Grape seeds also contain a chemical called proanthocyanidin, which appears to reduce the severity of asthma triggered by allergy.

TOMATO – HEART

  • A TOMATO is red and usually has four chambers, just like our heart.
  • Tomatoes are also a great source of lycopene, a plant chemical that reduces the risk of heart disease and several cancers.
  • The Women’s Health Study — an American research programme which tracks the health of 40,000 women — found women with the highest blood levels of lycopene had 30 per cent less heart disease than women who had very little lycopene.
  • Lab experiments have also shown that lycopene helps counter the effect of unhealthy LDL cholesterol.
  • One Canadian study, published in the journal Experimental Biology and Medicine, said there was “convincing evidence’ that lycopene prevented coronary heart disease.

WALNUT – BRAIN

  • THE gnarled folds of a walnut mimic the appearance of a human brain - and provide a clue to the benefits.
  • Walnuts are the only nuts which contain significant amounts of omega-3 fatty acids.
  • They may also help head off dementia. An American study found that walnut extract broke down the protein-based plaques associated with Alzheimer’s disease.
  • Researchers at Tufts University in Boston found walnuts reversed some signs of brain ageing in rats.

Reading the article was amazing. I found it helpful and useful. So I showed it to A & C and they liked it. I've even sent a copy of the email article to them. Upon showing it to them, I told C about walnut since it is good for the brain. Suddenly she asked "Am I not intelligent?" I was surprised to hear that. I was blur, did not understand and I just simply kept quiet. Minutes after that she suddenly raised her voice saying "I have feelings too !!" I was totally shocked and still kept quiet.

I totally don't get it. I asked myself, why was she angry? What did I say? I continued keeping quiet. Couple of hours after that our suprvisor, A went to another department for training. A few minutes after A left, C wanted to know why was I being sarcastic? Then she said "just because I don't know English, you can be so sarcastic about it. After hearing those accusations, I asked myself; what did I do or say? I realized that she think I was making fun of her because she does not know English. Which was not my intention at all. In fact I did not know that whether she know English or not. I really did not know.

I was being nice and honest about it. I asked her "why are you taking it so hard?" I continued by saying " I was just telling you something that is good for you. Thats all." " I was not making fun of you." Then she told me that she thought I was making fun of her just because she don't know English. I straight away told her to change the way you think or in other words to change her mindset. Then immediately I left the office and went to the back office because if I were to stay, I might end up nagging her.

C was so sensitive and she took it so hard. I told A about it and found out she really don't know English. Also she is so inferior and indulgent of herself. To be honest, she needs to be told off. I mean in a nice, stern and firm way. I hope she understood my message.

I'm not saying I'm perfect especially in English and I am not saying that I am a perfect person. I'm not. I made mistakes too. I sometimes can be sensitive too but I'm changing for the better. Same goes to the way I think. Its getting better bit by bit or in other words one step at a time. C needs to do that as well. It won't happen immediately but she need to take it one step at a time.

There are somethings I would like to share with you. If any of you are having trouble or problem for instance problem with English language, do not keep it to yourself. Do not feel scared to tell your friends or colleagues that you're not very good in English. Its a good thing because at least people will know and from there on they will help you with English language. People will also communicate with you using language that you are comfortable with for instance Bahasa Melayu.

Think positive. Do not let the negatives such as fear, inferior, sensitivity control you. You control the negatives and by controlling you convert it to positive. Once you have a positive thinking or in other words mindset, all the good things will come to you.

Well, thats it for now. Enjoy reading it and I hope you may find it useful.

Interesting Friday & Saturday....

7/21/2009 09:16:00 AM
Hi everyone.

I would love to share with you my activities last weekend which fell on July 17th and 18th. I know I was supposed to write it down on the day itself. Unfortunately I kept delaying it. So how is everyone? I hope you had a great weekend.

We went to Kuantan on Friday July 18th and came back Saturday July 19th. Went there to visit my injured aunt.

On the way to Kuantan, I drove all the way non-stop. I love to drive especially on a long journey. I don't like sitting on the passenger seat because it makes me feel sleepy all the time. For your information, the last time I went to Kuantan was about 10 - 15 years ago. I guess so. Its been a long long time. We stayed at my grand aunt's house in Kuantan. Arriving her brings back memories, childhood memories. We arrived Kuantan at night as we left Kuala Lumpur very late afternoon. Weird thing about Kuantan is traffic lights. There are lots of traffic lights. There are traffic lights every 1-2 kilometers. Was wondering, why so many traffic lights? Weird, very weird.

Anyway, on the next day which was our last day in Kuantan; we visited my aunt at her parents' house. To my understanding, she fainted while trying to clean her wound on her finger. She accidentaly cut her finger while cutting a fruit. She fell to side and backwards. Back of her head was swollen, right side of her face was swollen as well and injured her head which was on the right side. She is okay now but need to be careful while talking and moving her head as it is still swollen.

After that, we went up to Kemaman to eat fruits namely durian, mangosteen and rambutan. I ate the rambutan and mangosteen but not durian. I hate durian especially the smell. Nevertheless I finally tried eating durian and found it delicious. Unfortunately after 2 hours of eating; I felt dizzy and can't breath. I even had asthma. Soon after that I was feeling a bit okay and I decided not to eat durian anymore. No more durian.

Left Kuantan late afternoon and reached home at night. My uncle drove all the way home. Myself was sleeping all the way home. Could not have the strength to drive.........

thats about it. see ya.

Getting results

7/21/2009 05:54:00 AM

Hello everyone.

How we can change our results is basically a function of our imagination. Take for instance during the 60s. In 1960, it was a technological impossibility for man to travel into outer space. Then came May 25th 1961. It was during the term of late President of the US, John F. Kennedy. The late President had a dream to have a man walk on the moon hence presented a bold challenged before a joint session of Congress. His challenged was to send a man to the moon by end of the decade.

Within 10 years, the first man; Neil Armstrong stepped out onto the surface of the moon. The miraculous process of converting the dream into reality began when one voice challenged the scientific community to do whatever was necessary to see to it that America "places a man on the moon by the end of this decade." That challenge awakened the spirit of a nation by planting the seed of possible future achievement into the fertile soil of imagination. With that one bold challenge, the impossible became a reality.

—The same principle applies to every other area of your life!—

Now, a question. Can a poor person become wealthy? Of course! Not only the poor, everyone can become wealthy. Beauty part is that the unique combination of desire, planning, effort and perseverance will always work its magic. The question is not whether the formula for success will work, but rather whether the person will work the formula. That is the unknown variable. That is the challenge that confronts us all. We can go from wherever we are to wherever we want to be.

Therefore to get results; here's a food for thought: No dream is impossible, provided we first have the courage to believe in it.

Your Thoughts

7/15/2009 01:01:00 PM

Hello everyone.

Read the poem below. Have you heard of it or read the poem? It’s a very interesting poem.

Be careful of your thoughts, for your thoughts become your words, be careful of your words, for your words become your actions be careful of your actions, for your actions become your habits, be careful of your habits, for your habits become your character be careful of your character, for your character becomes your destiny - Author unknown -

I've just found out about this poem. It made really appreciate the meaning behind it especially after watching The Secret and began studying The Law of Attraction. What does the Law of Attraction teach you? Well, The Law of Attraction teaches you that you must consciously choose your thoughts to manifest what you desire into your life.

Now let's break down the poem mention above:

“Be careful of your thoughts, for your thoughts become your words”

Every word that comes out of your mouth comes from a thought whether you’re aware of it or not. In other words either consciously or unconsciously. We've all had the experience of blurting something out and also of thinking we said something that we didn't. If we think happy thoughts, we'll talk happy. If we think ugly thoughts, our words will be ugly.

“Be careful of your words, for your words become your actions”

The tone of voice and body language not only follow with the words we are saying - whether sweet or harsh; they follow the thought we have behind our words.

“Be careful of your actions, for your actions become your habits”

Habits we have were created by the actions we choose to take over and over again. Habits can be broken when we begin to take different actions which will form positive habits.

“Be careful of your habits, for your habits become your character”

This is the way other people see us. They can't feel our feelings or think our thoughts; they only hear our words, see our actions and habits that define who we are and what we stand for.

“Be careful of your character, for your character becomes your destiny”

Our destiny is our reality and also our world. Each of us has a unique perception of the world we live in. This is because we have created it by our past thoughts.

Though we may want our tomorrow's to be different than our todays, many don't achieve the things that they desire because they are stuck in the vicious circle of “Doing the same things and expect different results.”

To make The Law of Attraction work for you, you must be willing to put effort. You must monitor your thoughts and take action to get you where you want to be.

Giving!

7/14/2009 10:28:00 AM

Hello everyone.

Do any of you believe in giving or contributing to society? I do. I believe it is our responsibility in life. It is a key to being wealthy and also to be good in life.

One way to receive what you desire is to give or contribute. You have to have it to give and the amazing thing is, once you give, it comes back to you a hundred fold. When you give, you’re telling the Creative Source that you have plenty to give and the Creative Source responds by giving you more opportunities to give. And you have to have plenty to give so the Creative Source gives you plenty to give.

Think about it, some of the wealthiest people in this world give away millions or even billions of dollars. The amazing thing is they have all sorts of opportunities to earn even more money by giving it away. They can't even stop the flow of money coming to them. Did you know that Warren Buffet gave away over 90% of his wealth? He donated over 30 billion dollars to charity; he’ll never be able to stop the flow of money coming back to him.

Another person that says "I don't have enough to give" gets exactly what he's thinking about. "Not enough to give" and the cycle begins again, not enough to give, not enough to give. They're putting it out to the Creative Source that there isn't enough and guess what they get right back? Not enough!

So, start with whatever you can and give to your charity, or anything that adds to the greater good. See how things change for you. Make giving a desire on your list. Set an amount you want to give away and walk through the visualization of doing it; see how that feels. It's one of the best feelings in the world.

Give of your time too. Giving money is not the only way you can give. Giving time and energy is one of the best ways to contribute. If you have a special talent, find a way that you can help others by giving it away or volunteering. It doesn’t matter whether it’s going to pick up groceries for an elderly person or maybe it’s helping to build a home for a family. Find a way that you can add to the greater good and enjoy doing it by giving away your time and energy.

Another great way to give is by mentoring a young person. Teach them what you’ve learned for instance knowledge or skills. Guide, teach or even train them with the knowledge or skills you have.

Just by taking this small action, you’ll enact the Law of Attraction. It will change your vibration and start a chain reaction of good! Remember, giving is vibrating to the Creative Source that you have plenty to give and the Creative Source will give you more to be able to do so.

Now, every time I have the opportunity to help someone, I do it. I go out of my way to assist others and I’m truly grateful when I have the chance to make a difference in a person’s life.

Ok, lets explore the importance of giving. In terms of legacy, people are remembered not for being rich but for their contribution to society while they were alive. Not all of us can really make an impact to society, but we can all give something back. When you die, no one will know or care that you died rich. But you can change someone's life by giving freely of your money and time.

What about Karma? Well, giving is an act that makes you a magnet for whatever you give, it can be money, love, time, peace or joy. It is seriously true. The more you cling to wealth, the more it will elude you and the less satisfied you'll be with your lot. So if you want to be wealthy, spread the wealth.

If you are religious, whether you follow Christianity, Islam, Judiasm or any other religion; you are called to give. Even if you are athiest or agnostic, the spiritual principal of giving is probably important to you.

Remember, when you give, it always comes back to you a hundred fold. So, the more good vibrations you give, the more you’ll get back into your life! Be grateful when you give, say “thank you for this opportunity to ___________”. Feel the feelings of being thankful and grateful.

The most important you need to know; be sincere and honest in giving and do not expect to receive in return. Start right now, give of your time, your energy, your knowledge and your money!

Live in the Attitude of Gratitude

7/13/2009 08:30:00 AM

Hello everyone.

Have you read my previous article on gratitude? Hope the article was useful. I you have not read the article, I suggest you read it. Well, below is a continuity from the previous article. Basically on how to be grateful.

I'm sure all of you have desires. Do you want to accelerate your desires in life? A great way I know to do this is to literally live within an attitude of gratitude. When you're grateful, you're at a higher energy level. When you're living life in a loving and grateful manner your cells are vibrating at a different level, at the highest level possible.

Have you ever sat down with your eyes closed and thought about what you're grateful for? I mean really focused on how blessed you really are? You know most people can't even comprehend not having food or water or even a place to sleep. We get so used to our blessings that sometimes we don't feel blessed.

I can tell you that by spending a little quiet time thinking about how grateful you are for your family, your home, what you've learned, the country you live in, etc., and it can be a very powerful experience.

By taking that to the next step, it can enhance your emotional feelings for what you desire and actually accelerate you receiving those desires. Don't take anything for granted, be grateful for the lunch you just had or that parking spot that you found or the job that you have or even a home.

You see, as you are grateful for the things that you have or received, more good things will start happening in your life. Most important you need to know is that as long as you are grateful for the good things that have manifested in your life, more good things will come into your life. That is the Law of Attraction.

By practicing being grateful it helps to build those connections in your brain and pretty soon you’re feeling grateful, loving and thankful all of the time. In fact, try getting up every morning and put two feet on the floor, feeling grateful for your health. Then start thinking about everything that you’re grateful for. Literally go down the list in your head. By the time you have your breakfast or just plain coffee, you’ll be feeling really good and good things will expect to happen that day.

And when you go to bed, make a point to think about what you’re really grateful for and you might fall asleep thinking about it. Well, you will fall asleep thinking about subconsciously. This attitude of gratitude will attract positive people into your life; positive things will come to you and can literally change your life. Try it. Don’t just try but do it. Make this a habit.

Do this everyday and watch your life start to change. The greatest awareness occurs when we are grateful and our hearts are open.

Emotions are Your Guide to Thoughts

7/13/2009 07:53:00 AM

Hello everyone.

We, as human beings; have thousands of thoughts per day and it is impossible to monitor them all. Do all of you have emotions? Obviously you do. So what is emotions? Emotions is basically feelings, thoughts and behaviour. Emotions is a gift given to us. Our emotions let us know whether we are on the right track with our thoughts. When we think about something we usually get two types feelings. Its either we feel good or bad about whatever we’re thinking. We need to learn to use those feelings as our guide.

If we think about something and feel love, joy, happiness, gratitude, passion, hope or any other good feeling, then your thoughts are on the right track. Your thoughts are in alignment with what you really desire and you are attracting more of it. Now if you have a thought and turns out to be a bad feeling like guilt, worry, anger, revenge, hate, frustration or boredom, then your thought are on the wrong track. You're not congruent with what you really want.

Remember, that thoughts become things and if your thoughts are giving you a bad feeling, then you're at a low vibration and attracting more of that into your life. You see, the vibration that we are in is determined by the ideas and thoughts that you are emotionally involved with. It’s the emotional attachment of that thought that produces the vibration and the vibration that will attract the results into your life. That's the time to stop for just a minute and think about how you really want to feel. If you need to change the way you feel then take action by changing what you’re thinking about. Maybe you can go for a walk or listen to your favorite song, one that really makes you feel good or think about what you're really grateful for in your life.

Use your emotions as your guide as to whether you're on the right track with what you are attracting into your life.

“There is a thinking stuff from which all things are made, and which, in its original state, permeates, penetrates, and fills the interspaces of the universe. A thought, in this substance, produces the thing that is imaged by the thought. Man can form things in his thought, and, by impressing his thought upon formless substance, can cause the thing he thinks about to be created.” - Wallace D. Wattles, 1910 (The Science of Being Rich)

The Source of All Riches by Napoleon Hill

7/13/2009 05:41:00 AM

Thought is the source of all riches, whether material, physical or spiritual. It is the means by which the twelve riches of life (a positive mental attitude, sound physical health, harmony in human relationships, freedom from fear, the hope of achievement, the capacity for faith, willingness to share one’s blessings, a labor of love, an open mind on all subjects, self-discipline, the capacity to understand people, and financial security) may be appropriated by all who desire them. Yet thought is of little use in the accumulation of riches until it is organized and directed toward definite ends through definiteness of purpose. Like electricity, thought is a power which can, and often does, destroy as readily as it constructs, if it is not controlled and applied to constructive ends. Electricity will turn the wheels of industry, and convert darkness into light. Or it will snuff out life, according to the intelligence with which it is applied.

Thought will do the same, although it works in a different manner, through the brain of man. The pages of medical history are filled with the records of cases of people who have committed suicide through the negative application of thought. Every psychologist knows that the negative application of thought is responsible for much of the misery and poverty in the world. The world came into an understanding of the principle and usage of electricity very slowly, but it did learn at long last how to harness and use electricity. Slowly the world is learning how to harness and use the power of thought.

Men search throughout their lifetimes for worldly riches, not recognizing that the source of all riches is already within their reach and under their control, awaiting only its recognition and use. This is no mere assumption of truth, but it is a fact known to everyone who has become aware of the power of his own thought, and has appropriated that power and used it for the solution of his problems. For example, most men go all the way through life without recognizing the source of power which is available to them through the application of the master mind principle.

The accurate thinker not only recognizes the existence of this principle, but he makes use of it as a means of multiplying his own mind power. The accurate thinker surrounds himself with a master mind group consisting of at least for different types of talent: a spiritual adviser, a financial adviser, a health adviser and a personal adviser. Beyond this, you may require additional types of master mind allies, including technical advisers, professional advisers and other types of counselors, depending upon the nature and scope of your definite major purpose.

Success is Easy, But So Is Neglect by Jim Rohn

7/08/2009 07:18:00 AM

People often ask me how I became successful in that six-year period of time while many of the people I knew did not. The answer is simple: The things I found to be easy to do, they found to be easy not to do. I found it easy to set the goals that could change my life. They found it easy not to. I found it easy to read the books that could affect my thinking and my ideas. They found that easy not to. I found it easy to attend the classes and the seminars, and to get around other successful people. They said it probably really wouldn't matter. If I had to sum it up, I would say what I found to be easy to do, they found to be easy not to do. Six years later, I'm a millionaire and they are all still blaming the economy, the government, and company policies, yet they neglected to do the basic, easy things.

In fact, the primary reason most people are not doing as well as they could and should, can be summed up in a single word: neglect.

It is not the lack of money - banks are full of money. It is not the lack of opportunity - America, and much of the free World, continues to offer the most unprecedented and abundant opportunities in the last six thousand years of recorded history. It is not the lack of books – libraries are full of books – and they are free! It is not the schools – the classrooms are full of good teachers. We have plenty of ministers, leaders, counselors and advisors.

Everything we would ever need to become rich and powerful and sophisticated is within our reach. The major reason that so few take advantage of all that we have is simply neglect.

Neglect is like an infection. Left unchecked it will spread throughout our entire system of disciplines and eventually lead to a complete breakdown of a potentially joy-filled and prosperous human life.

Not doing the things we know we should do causes us to feel guilty and guilt leads to an erosion of self-confidence. As our self-confidence diminishes, so does the level of our activity. And as our activity diminishes, our results inevitably decline. And as our results suffer, our attitude begins to weaken. And as our attitude begins the slow shift from positive to negative, our self-confidence diminishes even more... and on and on it goes.

So my suggestion is that when giving the choice of "easy to" and "easy not to" that you do not neglect to do the simple, basic, "easy"; but potentially life-changing activities and disciplines.

To Your Success,
Jim Rohn

5 reasons people don't live the life they want

7/07/2009 09:14:00 AM

Hi readers,

Can you believe it? Half of 2009 is over! Can you believe it? Half of 2009 is over! Wow! Time flies. So, a question to you. Are you living the life you want right now? Well, I’m sure some of you are. What about the one’s that aren’t living the life they want? There’s something wrong somewhere. Did they take any action to get what they want in their life?

All of can wish, hope, desire and want a greater life, but it's not until we take action that we start creating better results in living the life we want.

Well, we know what this means, don't we? HALFTIME IS OVER! Now, is the time to push the "reset button" and get going. So, how do we do that? It's quite simple. It starts with recognizing why we don't live the life we want.

Don't you have the acquaintance that says he wants a better life? He can talk the talk that's for sure. “I would love to move to better house” or “I'm quitting my job and starting my own business” or “I'm going to buy a house one of these days.” You've heard the stories. Kind of reminds me of the little boy who cried wolf. With a friend like this, I hate to say, but when I hear statements like this, it holds little value. I'll say, “Hey, if that's what you really want, just do it!”

Do you know what comes next?

What else! Its the excuses that comes next. Example of the excuses; “My financial is not that good” “I don't have the money or time” or “I've got too much debt” or “I’ve got too many responsibilities and people counting on me” or “I don’t know whether it is possible.”

Below are the 5 reasons people don’t get to live the life they want:

1. Fear

Fear is the killer of dreams. Too many people operate their life from a place of fear. Worrying about what might happen if they go after their dream. Fear of failure. Fear of what others might think. Fear of success. Fear of change. Fear of losing everything. Fear of responsibility.

2. Talking To the Wrong People

This is another dream stealer. Naysayers love to share their fears, their failures and losses. They love the power of your attention as they tell you the worst. Spend your time talking to people that are positive of mindset and when you find positive people, spend your majority of your time around them. Sometimes, its family and friends that are the naysayers that are attempting to steal our goal right from under our nose.

3. Doubt

When you have a passionate goal, go after it. Don’t second guess. Don’t even doubt it. If you start with doubt, the odds of achieving your goal are going down. It's like standing on shifting soil; it's not a solid foundation. Let your belief be your foundation to achieve your goal. By believing you will achieve your goal.

4. Not Utilizing the Law of Attraction

Many people don't really understand the power of the Law of Attraction. They spend their focus on what's not working, what's wrong, their struggles, their problems, their illnesses, friend’s problems, family issues and wonder why they're not creating the life that they want.

It's not until someone starts focusing on what he/she wants, that his/her vibration energy changes. Think about what you desire, talk about your desires and most importantly move with action toward your goal. I’m sure you all have heard the expression, "talk is cheap." Just like my acquaintance; and yes, he is talking about it. That's good. It's just; he's not taking any step toward his goal. You must move with action. Action is the faith of your foundation. It's difficult to doubt your goal, when you're moving with action.

5. Settling For Less

Too often people just settle for their life. 2 weeks vacations a year. Not too bad. “I'll spend one week helping family move and the other I can have to myself.” How about creating your life the way that you want? Vacation when you want, where you want. Now, that's creating your life!

We settle for the things in our life based on money. The food we eat, the clothes we wear, the entertainment we enjoy, the vacations we take, the schools we attend, the cars we drive...you get my point. We base our decisions on money or what we think we can afford. It's not until we take responsibility for creating our life that we take the control to how our life looks.

Be BOLD! You'll not get the amazing life you desire by playing it safe. Risk = Reward. That's the only way to change the way your life looks now. You won’t get it overnight but YOU WILL GET IT.

Remember what US President Barack Obama said during his president election speech? He said, “YES WE CAN!” Do you remember now? Well, here’s from me to you; “YES YOU CAN!”

Law of Attraction - Affirmation

7/04/2009 01:45:00 AM
Hello everyone.

Affirmation? Heard of it? Most of you are probably wondering, what is affirmation? Well, its really simple. They are you being in conscious control of your thoughts. They are short, powerful statements.

Affirmations are one of the most powerful ways to create a vibrational match for what you want to attract into your life.

Every thought you think and every word you say is an affirmation. Your thoughts and words are declarations of who you think you are and how you perceive the world to be. Every time you think a negative thought, you are actually affirming it as your personal truth. Fortunately, the same goes for positive thoughts and statements.

Strong, positive affirmations are powerful means of self-transormation and they are a key element in the creation of the life you desire. It works by replacing limiting ideas, negative beliefs and self-talk that you have taken on and internalized over the years with positive statements that assert who you want to be and how you want to experience life.

The goal here is to create positive, self-affirming, self-empowering statements the uplift and inspire you to which will raise your emotional set point. There are two types of affirmations that I would like to share with you; Positive affrimations and Goal specific affirmations.

Positive Affirmations

Positive affirmations simply affirm your positive beliefs about yourself and about life. Examples of positive affirmations:
  • I am successful in all that I do.
  • My life is filled with love and beauty.
  • Yes I can!
  • I'm excited to be alive!
  • I believe that anything is possible.
The positive affirmation as above are simple declarations of who you want to be and how you want to feel. It is very powerful and they help to replace the negative thoughts and beliefs.

You will want to create your own positive affirmations and use them on a daily basis. All of your affirmations will work best whe they are read and repeated several times a day. Also be consistent. Say the positive affirmations out loud with feeling and esperience the emotions they evoke for you.

If you want more powerful results, repeat them while making eye contact with yourself in the mirror. Affirm just how wonderful you are and how great your life is. Feel it, believe it and receive it in all of your being. You are creating your self image, building or increasing your positive attitudes and internalizing a more positive belief system.

Goal Specific Affirmations

It affirms your specific dreams, desires and goals as having already been completed. These affirmations are statements that describe a goal in its already completed state. These affirmations will help you to create the emotional experience of having already attracted what it is that you want. The feelings of joy, happiness, exhiliration, excitement, confidence, relief and so on, are the vibrational match for the physical manifestation that you want to attract.

These affirmations create a positive expectation that you will achieve your goals; and they increase your desire and motivation to act on it.

When creating your own goal specific affirmations, it must be positive and avoid using the word 'NOT'. Your affirmations should be in present tense, short and specific. Begin your affirmations with "I am..." or "We are...". When you say your affirmations, feel it and believe it. Lastly, your affirmations should be made for your own self and not for others.

Conceive, Believe, & Achieve by Napoleon Hill

7/03/2009 12:37:00 PM

Whatever the mind of man conceives, man can achieve, so long as his conception does not run counter to any natural laws and is in harmony with a moral and orderly universe.

One of the purposes of man's existence here on earth seems to be to act as the receiver and distributor of the power of Infinite Intelligence. We can see that, to the extent that man cooperates in this purpose, he allies himself with the forces behind all nature. And, conversely, to the extent that he looks out only for his own selfish ends, he is opposing this power, or retarding its flow.

The power of Infinite Intelligence pours life into us as a flowing stream, maintaining all of the functions of our bodies and minds. We can use it to guide and govern the circumstances and conditions of our lives, if we act as conductors of this energy, and shape it according to our constructive purposes.

The inflowing power has no limitations. It is forced to manifest itself in this world in a way in which we, as individuals, can understand and express it.

Life energy flows into a positive, receptive mind in a continual stream, just as strips of aluminum alloy are fed into the punch presses of a fabricating plant. Going into it is potential life, potential abundance, potential power, potential riches. But, like the forced aluminum strips, our thoughts coming out can be only what we have expressed - what the stamping machines of our own convictions and beliefs have impressed upon the original material.

Whatever we accept, whatever we love, cherish or desire with a burning desire and hold constantly in our thoughts as our own, finds fulfillment in our lives. As sunlight, passing through a prism, is broken up into its component color rays, so Infinite Intelligence, in passing through our conscious mind, takes on a variety of forms. The prism of our minds can be darkened only by the imperfections of our own creations of worry, fear and failure consciousness, which shut out all the lighter, happier colors. It is a stream of intelligence that starts through us, but just as a poorly made die in the punch press can cut rude and ugly pieces from the best of raw material, just as a faulty prism can turn beams of sunshine into shadows, so can our disbeliefs and doubts turn perfect life-energy into sickness, poverty, discord and misery.

The first essential then, is to be careful of the pattern of the die, to watch your desires and beliefs as carefully as the director of the United States Mint watches the die that casts the silver coins. Instead of picturing the things you fear and do not want, and thus stamping a negative on the Infinite Intelligence flowing into your mind, be sure to picture the conditions you do want.

If you would have faith, keep your mind on that which you want and off that which you do not want.

I Ask, I Believe & I Receive - The creative process

7/03/2009 05:37:00 AM

Hi everyone.

Have you thought of wanting something in your life? I am pretty sure you even said to yourself, "I want this in my life" or "I want that". I would like to share with the Creative Process of having what you want and as below there are 3 steps.
  • - Ask once –

You must ask for what you desire. You get to choose what you want but you must know and be clear of what you want. This is your work and if you are not clear, then the Law of Attraction cannot bring you what you want. You'll be seding mix signals and you can only attract mixed results. Work out what it is you really want. Now that you know you can have, be or do anything and there are no limits. What do you want?

Let me explain it like this; if you had just bought a brand new dream home and had the keys, what would it feel like to walk through the door? Close your eyes and imagine what you would see. Is your heart racing with excitement? Walk around and look at your kitchen or your master bedroom suite. Really feel the excitement of walking through your dream home. You have to make it real in your mind and feel it! If it's a brand new car that you desire, then you must go drive it! Go and get a brochure from the salesman. Better yet, have him take a picture of you in the car of your dreams. Remember, you're asking the Creative Source for it and you must make it real in your mind; you must feel good about it.

If it’s a dream vacation or cruise then write to the destination or travel agent and get brochures & DVDs or go through their website. Read the materials and watch the presentations about your dream destination. You must put yourself in the picture by imagining what it would feel like to be there right now. Feel how happy you are about being there. Make it real, get excited and feel it inside, internalize it just as if you had it right now.

And last but not least, write down your desires in the present tense i.e.: "I'm so grateful now that..." And then explain how you want your life to be in every area.

Asking is the first step in the Creative Process. Make it a habit to ask. I you happen to make a choice and you do not know which way to go, just ask. You should never be stumped on anything in your life. All you need to do is ask!

  • – Believe you have received -

You must believe that you have received. You must that what you want is yours the moment you ask. You must have a complete and utter faith. In the moment you ask, believe and know that you already have it in the unseen, the entire universe shift to bring into the seen. You must act, speak and think as though you are receiving it now. If your thoughts show you do not have it yet, you will continue to attract not having it yet. You must believe you received it already.

When you book a vacation or order a brand new car or buy a new dream home, you know those things are yours. You would not go to book, order or purchase another because you know it is yours. That is the feeling of believing it is yours. That is the feeling of believing that you have received. Claim the things you want by feeling and believing it is yours; and when you do that, the Law of Attraction will powerfully move all circumstances, people and events for you to receive.

A question to you. How do you get to the point of believing it? Simple! Start make-believe. Be a child and make-believe. Act as if you have it already and as you make-believe, you will begin to believe you have received.

The question on how will it happen, is not your concern. Let the universe bring it to you. The how is not your part of Creative Process. Have faith. When you believe you are receiving, get ready and watch the magic begin!

  • - Receive –

This is where it gets really fun. You know what's right when you have that really great feeling inside. It might be finding the information or that piece of the puzzle that lets you put it all together. I'm always surprised that the exact thing I need or person I need, shows up at exactly the right time. In fact, most of the time it gives me goose bumps on my arms because I recognize it when it comes and I know to act on it immediately.

A fast way to get yourself on that frequency of feeling good is to say, "I am receiving it now. I am receiving all the good in my life now." Feel it. Feel it as though you have received. When you feel as though you have it now, the feeling is so real that it is like you have it already. You are believing that you have received and you will receive.

Be ready to take action. You will most likely be required to do something to get the ball rolling but sometime you will not even be aware you used action until after you have received. To be honest, you’ll be surprised at how things “line up” for you. I always take the first step to getting what I desire. I act! If it’s a car, I’ll go out and drive it. I even get the salesman to take a picture of me in my dream car. If it’s a new home you want, then call a realtor and go house shopping. See and feel what it’s gonna be like when you find your dream home.

In the receiving step you just need to be ready for your idea or manifestation and recognize it when it comes.

I use the Law of Attraction all the time now for big and small things. When I leave to go to the store I envision green lights all the way and I usually get them. Then, I imagine a parking spot right up front. I believe it will be waiting for me and I drive past dozens of cars down the aisle and guess what? There it is right up front! That first spot that I imagined is there. Now does it always happen? No, but it happens most of the time. In fact, just the other day I imagined the parking spot, drove to it and there was a car there. I was surprised but drove around to the next aisle and got an open space. Just as I parked, I saw a lady pull out of my spot! I was just a little fast for the Universe but what I had envisioned opened up as sure as the Law of Attraction allowed it. Once you use the Law of Attraction and recognize it, your believe in it gets stronger.

Trust your instincts. If you have an intuitive or instinctive feeling, follow it and you will find that the universe is magnetically moving you to receive what you asked for. Remember that you are magnet, attracting everything to you. When you are clear about what you want, you are a magnet to draw those things to you and those things you want are magnetized in return.

Food for thought: By asking or thought, the thing you want is brought to you; by action you receive it.

Law of Attraction - Define your dreams

7/03/2009 05:33:00 AM
Hello everyone.

All of us have dreams but the question is have you define your dreams?

Give thought to what you want to create in your life. Consider each of the various areas of your life and focus on what you do want, not what you don't want. Your dreams and desires are not subject to anyone's approval. They are yours alone and you you must define them in order to achieve them.

You deserve whatever you want in your life. Your dreams are valid if they are important to you and it doesn't matter if your dream is on marriage, having romantic relationship, getting a new car or house, vacation, getting new skills or getting financial freedom. By the way, there's nothing wrong with getting financial freedom. By getting financial freedom, you can do a lot of good in the world. However it is the attachment to money that can become problematic. So, remember that you must give in order to receive and keep your intentions high.

Dreams and aspiration should serve to ignite the passion within you. This passion will not only inspire you to achieve them, it will also send positive vibrational frequency out into the world. Naturally, through Law of Attraction, the universe will respond accordingly.

Important reminder; remember that all things are possible. Do not limit your vision for the future. Believe in yourself and believe that you are worthy. Keep all your actions, dreams, desires, goals in alignment with your life purpose. Decide what you really want you future look like.

As you begin to define your goals and dreams, there seven important areas in life that you will want to consider:
  1. Personal Goals - things you want to do, be and have.
  2. Relationship - friends, family, romantic, colleagues etc.
  3. Health and Body - wellness, fitness, body image etc.
  4. Career and Education - job, school, university, college, career goals etc.
  5. Recreation - sports, hobbies, fun, vacations etc.
  6. Financial - income, savings, investments etc.
  7. Contribution - charities, community service etc.
From the seven important areas, you might want to ask yourself:
  1. Do you have any idea what your personal goals and aspirations really are?
  2. Have you identified your life purpose?
  3. What are you passionate about?
  4. What is it that you love to do?
  5. What do you want to accomplish?
  6. Where do you want to go?
  7. What do you want to be?
  8. How can you give to others?
  9. What causes speak to you?
  10. What are your intentions?
Unfortunately most of us have given very little time or thought to the questions above. We've gotten so caught up with hustle and bustle of life that we have not taken the time. The weird thing is we are good at itemizing the things that have not been going welland the things we have to complain about. So, we are pretty clear on what we don't want but we have not given much consideration to what we do want. Therefore in order to attract what you want in your life, you must take the time to identify your dreams and desires.

I'll give you a scenario. One day, you go into your favorite hang out at Starbucks The Curve. You enter the outlet and you place and order. When you place an order, what do you say? Do you say, "I don't want hot chocolate" or "I don't want hot latte" or "I don't want cappucinno"? Obviously not. You place your order for a caramel frappucinno, tall, no cream with total clarity and specificity with the absolute confidence you will get exactly what you want.

Now, to operate in harmony with the Law of Attraction; you must place your order for life in much the same way. You need to clarify your goals and be specific. Stop settling for whatever just happens to come your way in life. Take ownership of the fact that you can actively participate in the creation of your own future by clearly stating your desires.

Bottom line is, if you don't know what you are asking for, then how can expect to get it? So, take time to decide what you really want to attract in your life, write it down and be clear about it.

Lastly, dream big! Don't censor your dreams or vision with practicalities and probabilities. You don't need to know every single step that it will take you to achieve your goals. Just decide what you want and know that you deserve it. Believe in it, release it and let it go. Open yourself up to infinite possibilities. Watch the miracles unfold.

How Do You Measure Success? by Denis Waitley

7/02/2009 05:30:00 AM

Quality of life, in America today, is often measured by the amount of money you make. Success is defined by the kind of car you drive. By the neighborhood you live in. By the toys you own. After all, he who dies with the most toys wins. True or false?

Life was difficult before remote controls and automatic door locks. Skiing was so boring before the new shape skis hit the market. Fishing without a carbon-fiber rod was next to impossible. And the best part of life today is that big-screen plasma HDTV, the one with the universal remote that controls everything. It's the best escape devised yet from an otherwise dull evening.

In contrast, the people of the remote Himalayan country of Bhutan were recently rated as having the poorest quality of life of all but one other country in the world --- after all, their average annual per capita income is only $500. Ironically, however, when you visit the country, there are no beggars, only beautiful, snow-capped peaks, virgin forests, and clean air. The crime rate is extremely low, no one is in a hurry, and there is a strong sense of community. You might almost think that instead of depending on their belongings to entertain them, they've learned to enhance their lives by building relationships with each other.

Be careful to avoid the trap of, "the more you buy, the more you need". Because oftentimes then the more we think we need, the more unhappy we are with what we have. So this year, before buying those new golf clubs, stop and think. Will that $1,000 bring you more happiness through a bag of irons, compared to a few days off with your family, or as a donation to an organization, or a person who is trying to make a difference. It's your choice. It's how you measure it.

So this week count your blessings instead of your possessions. Spend more time with those you love, instead of spending more money on things you lack.
